The first step of getting better is finding a medical team that believes you. The next step is starting the process of digging.. and digging.. and digging.... This isn't an easy task in a country of medical providers who often are synical, burnt out, and insurance companies don't want to pay for "unnecessary tests" to get to the bottom of what ails us. This morning, I start the process of digging- a 24 hour EEG test to trace my brain waves. We don't anticipate we will find seizure activity. I sort of hope we do. The alternative is ugly- are these episodes focal motor seizures, or early onset dementia? I cringe at the thought of being like my father. But my GOD is bigger than any diagnosis we find!
